SRE in 2019
2019 SRE Classes
Special Religious Education (SRE) is offered to Years 7 and 8 students. Classes will be held on alternate Wednesdays throughout the year, rotating through periods. Students must return a signed permission note to attend.
From time to time SRE seminars may be offered to students in Years 9-10. Information will be provided to parents if and when seminars are organised.
Students must return a signed permission note to attend any SRE activity. Parents may withdraw their child from SRE at any time by writing to the school.
Tuncurry Campus staff do not supervise SRE. Instead they will be running alternative meaningful activities for students who do not attend SRE.
The SRE teacher, Jose Vergara, is employed by Generate Ministries delivering the curriculum, ‘Think Faith’. Information on the curriculum can be found at https://thinkfaith.com.au.
Please note: The school is not responsible for the SRE curriculum. Any concerns regarding the curriculum should be directed to the Authorised Providers of SRE: contact details listed below.
Generate Ministries is organising SRE on behalf of the approved SRE providers: the Anglican, Baptist, Coast EC, Churches of Christ, Salvation Army, Presbyterian, Seventh Day Adventist and Uniting Churches.
For more information about Special Religious Education (SRE) and Special Education in Ethics (SEE), including the list of approved providers, please visit: https://education.nsw.gov.au/teaching-and-learning/curriculum/learning-across-the-curriculum/religion-and-ethics
