The Tuncurry Campus Mathematics faculty aims to deliver engaging lessons that are relevant to real life. Teachers use a variety of learning activities and assessment that cater for a range of learning styles. Our program encourages higher order thinking skills and support students with different learning needs. Each year staff from the faculty organise a "Maths in Careers' day for the Year 8 students, help organise and enters teams in the Aboriginal Numeracy Competitions, help organise the "Super Sleuth" day for local primary students, and enters all students in the top classes into an annual Mathematics Competition.

The faculty provides semester course outlines to all students that details the content and assessment to be covered each semester, and the equipment and homework requirements in this subject. Parents are encouraged to read this information and speak to their child about the requirements and their learning in Mathematics. At the beginning of each unit of work students also receive a detailed outline of what they will be taught and assessed on each unit. This information is provided to support students with their learning and planning. The Mathematics staff aim to facilitate successful learning for all students.
