Personalised Learning Plans (PLP's)

PLP's are a tool that the school use to support Aboriginal students and their family/ carers with their education. We aim to get a better understanding of the student's educational needs, personal goals and cultural growth. Each year the student has a PLP and this is revised throughout the year.

Naidoc Celebrations

We value Aboriginal culture in the Great Lakes area. Naidoc celebration assemblies allow the students to celebrate their culture and show what they have learnt through dance, song and drama. Naidoc celebration assembly is held in July in the school hall. All parents and friends are encouraged to attend. If you have any further enquiries, please contact one of the Aboriginal Education Team members at the school

Aboriginal Education Team meetings

Aboriginal Education Team meetings are similiar to AECG meetings where students, parents and staff attend. We organise cultural activities, plan girls and boys group and discuss all matters that involve our Aboriginal and Torres Strait students. If you have any further enquiries, please contact one of the Aboriginal Team members at the school.

Boys and Girls group

Many of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait students want to know more about their culture and language. The idea of the boys and girls group is to teach the students and develop their traditional skill. It also provides yarning time for the students to discuss any problems or concerns they may have. Our Aboriginal Education workers and Aboriginal Education team run boys and girls group. If you have any further enquiries, please contact one of the Aboriginal Education Team members at the school.
